OK, people. Your love for made-to-order hoagies has been recognized.
Later this week, the Pennsylvania-born one-stop shop for food and fuel has a milestone to celebrate. Its 100th Florida store, located in Brandon at 1728 W. Brandon Blvd., will host its grand opening bash at 10 a.m. Friday.
Wawa entered the Sunshine State in 2012, and the opening of its newest Brandon location coincides with another company announcement: the Wawa Foundation plans to donate $100,000 to community food banks statewide.
During the opening, an all-day free coffee offer and a Hoagie Huddle to Fight Hunger (Wawa associates from the Tampa region will build 1,000 hoagies for local school feeding programs, managed by Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation) are among the planned festivities. Complimentary cups of coffee will also be offered at every Florida Wawa throughout the day.
