Breakfast of Champions: "The Hercules" omelet at Tick Tock in St. Pete

It is called "The Hercules." Fitting name, really, considering that it tastes like food fit for the gods. It is a perfectly sized, four-egg omelet filled with deliciously tender and flavorful hunks of gyro lamb meat and fresh feta cheese interspersed with juicy diced tomatoes, which seem to lighten it a bit. Served with an immodest side of breakfast potatoes and your choice of toast, grits or fresh fruit at only $6.95, this writer considers it the best bargain for the perfect local breakfast of champions.

Tick Tock: 8123 Fourth St. N., St. Pete, 727-498-8563.
