Breadstick sandwiches. They're a thing now, thanks to Olive Garden, a firm believer in a diner's right to endless breadsticks.

Around the country, the family-style Italian restaurant chain is introducing its new signature sandwiches — the Breadstick Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich and Breadstick Italian Meatball Sandwich — to eaters through the #BreadstickNation food truck tour.

The restaurant-on-wheels has three stops in store for the Bay area. The first is at 5 p.m. Friday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, followed by a noon sampling Saturday at the KIAFest Main Street Blast event in New Port Richey. The truck will return to Tropicana Field at 11 a.m. Sunday to round out its tastings.
