Hey, food lovers: Little Greek Fresh Grill Clearwater and a few Whole Foods Market stores have upcoming fundraisers planned for Tampa Bay.
Use your appetite to help 'em out.
Up first is Whole Foods, which will host a benefit for Homestead nonprofit Farm Share from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10. Shoppers are encouraged to stop by the organic supermarket chain’s locations in Tampa, Clearwater and Sarasota, as they’re set to donate five percent of their revenue to the large-scale food bank and packing house.
Last year, Farm Share distributed more than 55 million pounds of grub to folks experiencing food insecurity in Florida’s 67 counties.
Now, what’s happening at Little Greek Clearwater? A fundraiser for Largo-based Family Center on Deafness, which will go down between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18.
Diners can chow down while supporting the Pinellas County team of deaf and hard-of-hearing high school students who are slated to participate in an academic competition. The fast-casual restaurant has promised to donate 20 percent of its orders to the Family Center on Deafness.
“We are proud to partner with the School of Deafness,” said Irena Sladejovic, owner of Little Greek Clearwater, in a statement. “We want to help them win the college bowl sponsorship.”
