Bubbleology, a British bubble tea chain bringing its U.S. flagship cafe to Atlanta, also has its sights set on Tampa.
After the first Florida location launches at Orlando's Florida Mall in November, the 4-year-old bubble tea brand will debut a second later that month at Westfield Citrus Park.
Headquartered in trendy Soho, London, Bubbleology specializes in bubble tea that's authentic in taste. For those unfamiliar with the cult drink, the tea-based beverage originated in Taiwan and arrives filled with chewy tapioca balls called boba.
At Bubbleology cafes, patrons choose from 12 milk teas, 10 fruit teas and a create-your-own brew, with flavor options like almond, papaya, matcha and white peach. The drinks are featured hot or cold as well.
"We've had our eye on the U.S. market as our next big launch — particularly in the Southeast," said founder Assad Khan. "Orlando and Tampa are both such vibrant, diverse tourist hubs. They offer the perfect place to introduce our bubble tea concept before continuing our expansion throughout Florida and beyond."
The brand plans to host a variety of pop-up events, with dates to be announced, before opening its new Florida locations.
