Oddfellows Ice Cream Co. says its “ice cream is like driving 31 in a 25, honking the horn the entire time,” and if that analogy intrigues you, then head to its South Tampa location’s grand opening on Thursday, Dec. 16.

Starting at 3 p.m., the small-batch ice cream shop will offer free scoops to anyone who stops by its grand opening event at 718 S Village Circle in Tampa's Hyde Park Village.

Expect to see ice cream you’ve never heard of on the Oddfellows menu—whacky and unexpected flavors are kind of its thing.  Among the 30 different sweet and savory flavors offered are pistachio cardamom caramel, ricotta lemon sponge cake, peanut butter and jelly, olive oil, and matcha rocky road. To celebrate its Tampa debut, Oddfellows paired with its Hyde Park neighbors Willa’s to create an exclusive Italian cookie sundae.

And if quirky flavors don’t vibe with your palette, there’s a variety of classic flavors like cookies and cream and vanilla bean offered as well. Milkshakes, vegan options and ice cream floats will be dished out of the new 1,700 square-foot scoop shop as well.

Different Oddfellows locations throughout New York City offer delivery via third party services like Doordash and Uber Eats, so perhaps expect that convenient option from its Tampa location soon.

Tampa’s brand new Oddfellows is the 11th and southernmost location of the NYC-based scoop shop, as its closest neighbor is in Charleston, South Carolina.  Hyde Park Village’s newest addition will be open from 12 p.m.-10 p.m. daily, and for more information follow the official Oddfellows Instagram page.
