The SoHo area of Tampa will soon have a new place to flock for contemporary Spanish cuisine and cocktails. Part of the mixed-use Morrison development’s tenant lineup at 930 S. Howard Ave., Bulla Gastrobar revealed Monday that its shareable menu, communal atmosphere and rooftop bar are scheduled to premiere in fall.

The rooftop bar, known as Luna Lounge, sets Bulla Tampa apart from the four locations in South Florida, Winter Park and now Atlanta, which is pretty neat.

“SoHo is a vibrant and flavorful area, and we’re excited to be adding a one-of-a-kind Bulla location to the neighborhood,” said Carlos Centurion, president and founder of Centurion Restaurant Group, who owns the Florida-based restaurant, in a statement. “We look forward to sharing our passion for Spanish cuisine and out-of-this-world cocktails with the Tampa Bay area.”

With 172 seats inside and out, the casual tapas bar, inspired by the gastrobars of Spain, takes a modern approach to traditional recipes with help from a Josper charcoal oven-meets-grill. “Huevos ‘Bulla’” (eggs, serrano ham, potato foam, truffle oil, homemade potato chips) and paella (Valencia-style rice, seafood, red sofrito, saffron) are among the popular menu items.

On the drinks side, highlights include a Spanish beer and wine selection, specialty cocktails and made-to-order pitchers of sangria (!). Happy hour specials on half-priced beer, wine and house liquor are also offered every day.

Bulla plans to serve lunch and dinner daily once its doors open, as well as weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
