St. Petersburg is finally getting its first Chicken Salad Chick location at 1221 4th Street North, at the spot that the iconic China City restaurant inhabited for nearly six decades. It’s set to open sometime in 2020, although a projected date has yet to be determined.
This new casual lunch eatery will be operated by Paul and Linsay Rohr, according to St. Pete Rising. The local franchise duo also owns a Chicken Salad Chick location in Palm Harbor.
The Alabama-based chain now has over 20 locations in Florida. It’s known for putting a healthy spin on average American lunch fare, with 12 types of chicken salad to choose from—from its spicy Jalapeño Holly salad to its fruity and nutty Cranberry Kelli salad. Soups, sandwiches, and salads fill out the rest of the chicken salad-focused menu.
Chicken Salad Chick is steadily spreading throughout the greater Tampa Bay area, as it just opened a location in Brandon a few weeks ago. It’s newest location in St. Petersburg will be the first restaurant in the old China City building, since its closure in 2015.
