Since so many of us want to crush beers without gaining weight or getting completely sloshed, session beers have long come into vogue.
Well now, Tampeños can slam cans of one of the city’s most famous exports with less guilt thanks to a new low-calorie Cigar City Brewing beer called “Jai Low”.
“Say ‘jai’ to your new best friend!,” a post from Brown Distributing says before adding that what looks like a 12-oz. can of the new IPA clocks in at just 120 calories. “Be on the lookout for 6 packs and 12 packs making their way to your favorite stores next week 🍻”
Nutrition websites clock a 12-oz. can of the original Jai Alai at 225 calories. CCB’s website says the beer is 7.5% ABV, but Brown Distributing’s photo shows Jai Low with a different ABV (CANarchy, which also said CCB is launching a hard seltzer, says Jai Low is 4% ABV).
Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reached out to CCB to get more details and learn how the addition of Jai Low affects production of other CCB beers. We’ll update the post with any new information.
