This Tampa Bay Lightning hockey season will be better than before, and we’re not talking about the playoffs.

At some point during the 2019-20 season, Amalie Arena will open a Cigar City taproom below the Pam Iorio Parking Garage, which faces the arena entrance.

The team named CCB as its official craft beer and told TBBJ that signature brews like Jai Alai, Guayabera and Florida Cracker will now flow inside the arena as part of the partnership.

“We will work together to contribute to the Tampa Bay community and elevate the fan experience at Amalie Arena,” Justin Clark, Chief Operating Officer at Cigar City told the website. “Not only do we look at the Lightning as a pillar of our Tampa community, we know how respected they are around the world. Their contributions to the community reach far beyond sports entertainment and we are excited to contribute to their success."

As an amplification of the partnership, Cigar City’s 2020 Hunahpu’s Beer Festival, set for March 13, will move from the Raymond James parking lot to Amalie Arena.

IPAs and foam fingers will make for one hell of a game. Get ready for a new season of Lightning hockey with a craft, local cold one in hand.
