Cigar City Brewpub has quietly closed in Tampa's Northdale neighborhood.

Launched almost four years ago in a former TGI Fridays, the casual restaurant and microbrewery, a venue for several craft beer dinners, served its final meals and house-brewed beers at 15491 N. Dale Mabry Highway on Jan. 1.

The Facebook post announcing the brewpub's closure has 42 shares and nearly 100 comments.

"Farewell and thank you to our Northdale and Carrollwood customers," the Dec. 30 update reads. "We are currently scouting new locations and plan to reappear in 2017. Check our Facebook page for updates."

Featuring local and humanely raised ingredients, the brewpub's menu carried Cuban, Southern, Italian and Tampa influences. When its doors first opened, brewer Tim Ogden and chef Nicolay Adinaguev led the beer and food offerings. The brewpub's most recent chef, Gerry Malynowsky, paired items like shrimp and grits, ropa vieja and a grass-fed burger with head brewer Nick Streeter's small-batch brews.
