The Clearwater Community Gardens features 36 gardening plots.
Ever wanted to grow your own veggies? The Clearwater Community Gardens announced Thursday that there are more than 10 plots available the gardening year, which begins May 1.

At the corner of North Betty Lane and Grove Street, the community garden has 36 4-by-8-foot gardening plots, where gardeners have the opportunity to grow whatever they'd like. Plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so visit the garden's website for details on how to get one.

The Clearwater Community Gardens, a project of the Clearwater Garden Club, also hosts many group functions for its members, who are willing to help newcomers get started. Past events have included potluck dinners and beautification days for the garden — the latest of which takes place from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

The community garden has a part-time manager and is open from dawn to dusk daily.
