Downtown St. Pete will have some added beach vibes, soon. The Daiquiri Shak Raw Bar & Grille, which has operated in Madeira Beach since 1996, announced it will open a second location at Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill, 1320 Central Ave.

The second location, which is set to open on March 22, is moving into the bar's second story and will be called “Daiquiri Shak Upper Deck.” You can add that to your list of concepts with a view in Tampa Bay.

Ryan Robinette, the Madeira Beach location’s general manager, said the downtown Daiquiri Shak will have a smaller, sandwich-focused food menu but an identical drink menu. This means diners will have access to nearly 30 different daiquiris, including rum runners and rip tides.

According to Robinette, the new location will employ about 20 people, which means all hands on deck when a much boozier baseball season is on the horizon. Not much longer until we get our first sips of Upper Deck, although considering coronavirus has postponed the Rays' season, you might have to find another reason to drink your way through the menu.
