DETROIT LIQUORS RE-OPENS SAT., JAN. 16
Unveils spirited new pricing structure
Longtime downtown St. Petersburg fixture Detroit Liquors has been made over and opens as a corner liquor store with an upscale feel. The store's renovation and re-opening marks another phase in the redevelopment of the Jannus Landing entertainment complex by partners Jeff Knight and Bill Edwards.
Detroit Liquors stocks all major brands of liquor, as well as a generous selection of wines and beers. In an innovative pricing strategy, the shop will offer the lowest prices on liter bottles of spirits in town. Most liters will cost the same as a 750ml bottle in other outlets. Additionally, the smallest bottles offered in the store will be pints.
Detroit Liquors has been given a handsome facelift in cream and wood hues, with new shelving and a new tile floor. The shop, which had been closed for a couple of months, is part an ambitious undertaking to restore Jannus Landing, including a complete overhaul of the concert courtyard, a new sushi bar/nightclub called Pure Sake (home of the old Tamiami Bar), a refurbished (and already re-opened) Pelican Pub, and a makeover of the Garden Restaurant.
Detroit Liquors is located at 205 Central Avenue, on the corner of Central and Second Street.
