One Palm Harbor taproom has turned a classic Christmas carol on its head in the name of craft beer. Instead of "The Twelve Days of Christmas," The Pint and Brew is poised to host a beer-fueled holiday tasting this weekend called 12 Beers of Christmas.
A dozen seasonal brews will showcased during the special tapping, among them: Huyghe Brewery Delirium Noël (Belgian strong dark ale), Fat Head's Brewery Holly Jolly Christmas Ale, DuClaw Brewing Co. Sweet Baby Jesus (chocolate peanut butter porter), Prairie Artisan Ales Christmas Bomb! (imperial stout), Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. 12 Dogs of Christmas Ale, and Sixpoint Brewery Global Warmer (imperial red).
Local beer — Barley Mow Brewing Company Tinsel (holiday spiced ale), Six Ten Brewing Mistletoe IPA and Funky Buddha Brewery Last Snow (coconut and coffee porter) — will also be on hand alongside Pint and Brew's holiday grilled cheese. The sandwich is layered with honey ham, Brie and cranberry sauce on sourdough. Yum.
