Next week, a cocktail-making battle commences behind of the bar of Anise Global Gastrobar's private back room.

The competition, dubbed The Manhattan Experience, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the downtown Tampa restaurant, where participants will mix up their best takes on the classic Manhattan. They'll use Woodford Reserve Bourbon to pull off new spins on the iconic recipe that calls for whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters, as well as Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon in any original cocktail of their choice.

A free trip to Kentucky to visit the internationally known distillery is up for grabs, after all.

In addition to a little friendly competition, Anise will offer guests $7 Woodford cocktails and light appetizers while a live video of the event streams in the main dining room.
