Take note, wine people. The upcoming Cacique Maravilla Tasting — hosted from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Lector — allows regionites to rub elbows with the seventh-generation owner behind the Chilean winery's vineyards: Manuel Humberto Moraga Gutierrez.
The event is made possible by the partnership that the downtown Tampa natural wine shop has with Naples wine importer and distributor Cerdá, Llanos y Cía.
Gutierrez, who'd always worked with his father, took over production nine years ago and manages the estate in the Bío Bío Valley that Cacique Maravilla calls home. His winery makes traditional, ancestral wines that attendees sample, while the voice and acoustic guitar of Acho Brother provide the afternoon's soundtrack.
