Tampa Bay is buzzing a little harder ever since Elevation Coffee Roasters LLC made its debut in Carrollwood just a few weeks ago at 4952 Northdale Blvd. in Carrollwood.

The new shop offers up brewed coffee like drip, cold brew and nitro, various espresso drinks, as well as hot or iced green, black and herbal blended teas.

The Public Cupping event is scheduled for Saturday, January 25 from noon-1 p.m., and is free for all attendees. If you're unfamiliar with the practice of cupping or coffee tasting, it has to do with observing the tastes and aromas of brewed coffee. The Facebook event page encourages those who may be a little hesitant to join in, "Cupping can seem a little intimidating and, honestly, quite pretentious, but it doesn't have to be and we want to share this experience with the community." RSVPing for the event through Facebook is encouraged.

Elevation is added to the list of independent coffee shops in Tampa Bay, and newbies including The Blend, and Blind Tiger's latest location within Westshore Plaza.

Hours for the coffee shop are Sunday 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m., and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
