For another year, beloved Tampa breweries and restaurants come together during the movie-themed BeerFest. The seventh installment of the festival — titled Hop Gun — is set to fill up downtown's Tampa Theatre with snacks and craft beer at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Hop Gun is chaired by The Refinery owner-manager Michelle Baker and Independent Bar and Cafe owner Veronica Danko, whose establishments are also sampling their stuff.
Other participants include 7venth Sun Brewery, Anise Global Gastrobar, Ava, Crooked Thumb Brewery, Ella's Americana Folk Art Cafe, Escape Brewing Company, Haven, Hidden Springs Ale Works, Poké Rose, Six Ten Brewing and Xilo Street Mexican (that's the new concept from chefs Rosana Rivera and Ricardo Castro of Piquant).
Guests with Premium Sampling admission get one-hour early entry, followed by Grand Sampling ticket holders. Come dressed as a Top Gun character, or in a costume inspired by the flick.
Tickets are up online.
