There are at least five Bay area establishments you'll need to hit up Friday for complimentary doughnuts during your National Doughnut Day celebration.
Perk's Donut Bar on South Dale Mabry Highway will give out one of its custom doughnuts to those who stop in from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Dunkin' Donuts locations in Tampa plan to do the same when patrons purchase a beverage throughout the day. Dunkin' will also premiere its newest doughnuts: the Chips Ahoy! Crème and Chips Ahoy! Crunch.
Also handing out one sweet freebie is Krispy Kreme (St. Petersburg's Fourth Street shop and the one on Kennedy Boulevard in South Tampa for sure), as well as Dough along MacDill Avenue while supplies last. Customers at Dough, which opens its doors at 6:30 a.m., will receive a free coffee alongside their doughnut.
Don't miss a glazed creation from any of St. Pete Bagel Co.'s three locations, either. Besides the storefronts in St. Pete and Largo, the bakery's latest site recently opened at 4419 66th St. N. in Kenneth City.
