When Greg Spadaccini of Florida Avenue Eats was contacted for comment on Brew Bus owner Anthony Derby's statement released late last night, which said in part, “I continued to reach out to Mr. Spadaccini to find an amicable solution that did not involve the legal system. Even last night, I reached out to him to ask to sit down and chat to avoid an unnecessary legal conflict, and again received no response;" Spadaccini said he had no comment, "and will not talk until after speaking with his lawyers," since he was served a cease and desist by Brew Bus' legal team.
Brew Bus's public relations team confirmed the issuing of the cease and desist was last month, prior to Florida Avenue Eats opening and the issuing of the summons yesterday morning for trademark infringement.
Ouch.
Within the coming days, updates are expected to be announced for next steps.
Will legal action continue, or will the two "meet up for a beer or coffee and figure this out," as Derby's Facebook post stated?
