Don’t let its name fool you. Florida's Gulf Coast EggFest, which takes place in Tampa on Feb. 29., is a celebration of barbecue and grilling (not eggs).

Barbecue enthusiasts from all over Tampa Bay will come together next weekend to participate in a cooking competition on Big Green Egg grills only. Competitors range from professional chefs to backyard pitmasters—as attendees vote on whose barbecue ranks supreme and deserves the "People's Choice” award.

The venue for Florida's Gulf Coast EggFest is Tabellas at 5818 Causeway Blvd. in Tampa—a large, outdoor event venue perfect for hosting tons of Eggs and barbecue fans.

Tickets are on sale now via flgulfcoasteggfest.com, starting at $25, and come with samples of freshly-grilled barbecue, as well as access to family-friendly games and live music. Children ages 12 and under can attend for free.

A portion of the proceeds from Florida's Gulf Coast EggFest benefits Mary Lee's House, a  nonprofit committed to healing the children of abuse and neglect, and USO Central Florida, a charitable corporation that keeps active service members connected to their families and homes.
