Chocoholics are flocking to the months-old Fruit Fondue, a gourmet cafe in Tampa's Citrus Park area, to get their sweets fix.
Order breakfast favorites — waffles, crepes, French toast, pancakes — smothered in Belgian milk or white chocolate inside the dining spot at 9904 W. Linebaugh Ave., or choose from fresh fruit salads and smoothies that also incorporate the cafe's signature treat.
In addition to its 50-plus options, the menu offers two fondue items: fruit skewers covered in chocolate, or fruit slices (strawberry, banana, pineapple and kiwi) served with a side of melted goodness.
The family-owned Pho Nhu Trang opened this month at 3698 W. Waters Ave. Cooking up authentic Vietnamese cuisine, the Tampa restaurant features vegetarian offerings, 10 kinds of pho, rice-protein mashups and tons of other dishes priced between $2 and $10.
The beverage selection — which recently included a snazzy off-the-menu peach soda, with or without boba — is affordable, too.
Jungle Prada Tavern now hails in the former Jungle Prada nightclub space at 1700 Park St. N. in St. Petersburg. The 1920s building has housed many restaurant tenants, including Saffron's, Tapas Restaurant & Bar and, most recently, the Black Palm.
With craft beer and a neighborhood feel, the tavern carries a crowd-pleasing lineup of traditional eats, including sandwiches, fish spread, creative pizzas and build-your-own burgers.
