Free Shake Day is a tradition for Wayback Burgers, founded in 1991 as Jake's Hamburgers.

Next week, the region's two locations from Wayback Burgers are giving away milkshakes on the house. It's tradition for the Connecticut-based fast-casual burger franchise to commemorate the first day of summer with Free Shake Day, which begins at 10:30 a.m. June 21.

Wayback Burgers — with outposts in both Lithia and Plant City — annually stocks up on an abundance of shake provisions for the celebration, and this year, local franchise owners have 30 times more chocolate and vanilla syrups, ice cream, and cups, lids and straws on hand.

Each location expects to provide hundreds of made-to-order shakes to customers looking to enjoy the freebie, aka one 12-ounce black-and-white shake per person. Featured until closing time, the in-store-only offer is available while supplies last. No additional purchase is necessary, either.
