A week ago or so, A+E's FYI network announced production will begin immediately for 14 half-hour episodes of a new series called Food Porn. Hosted by New York restaurateur Michael Chernow, the show will pay homage to every diner with an Instagram account's most-used hashtag and phrase.

On Twitter, #foodporn is tagged almost every two seconds, and the phrase is incorporated into more than 50 million Instagram posts. IRL (Internet-speak for "In Real Life"), Chernow will hunt for the most popular U.S. dishes categorized as "food porn" online, discussing their characteristics with the chefs who created them throughout the series.

"People are obsessed with photographing, sharing and discussing the food they eat on social media," said Jana Bennett, president of FYI. "FYI will be capturing this convergence of mouth-watering food and social trends in a unique and entertaining format."
