After initially opening days before COVID-19-related shutdowns, Guava Grill is reopening its doors to the public at Tampa’s Bay Cannon Beer Company this week.
Stationed within West Tampa's Bay Cannon Beer Company, at 2106 W. Main St., Guava Grill will open this Friday, May 22.
Though separate from the brewery, the new eatery is owned by Ricky Coston and Libor Vitu and will serve Cuban-inspired tavern food and guava creations, like their Havana Nachos, Main St. Cuban Sandwich and Guava Grilled Cheese Sliders. Their menu will be limited upon initial opening.
While they’re separate entities, Bay Cannon Beer Company COO Matthew Juaire said, the brewery and Guava Grill are a part of each other—each will be working to create an integrated experience for customers through the food and beer pairings.
“We always wanted a partner to operate the kitchen, someone that is passionate about food and can collaborate with us on the beer side and create a very cool experience,” Juaire said.
Having debuted its opening as West Tampa’s first brewery in decades last summer, Bay Cannon Beer Company now has the kitchen component that Juaire hopes will provide something that’s “just a little bit different, from a brewery standpoint.”
The brewery is currently operating at 50% capacity and will be following social distancing guidelines and equipping each table with hand sanitizer, according to the Bay Cannon Beer Company Facebook page.
