The Red Bird 11301 N 56th St. Suite 6, Temple Terrace National chicken chain The Red Bird (not to be confused with the other national chicken chain Red Bird), will soon open at 11301 N 56th St. Suite 6, in the now-shuttered Yum Yum Hot Pot space within the Terrace Oaks Plaza. According to the website, the company uses fresh, never frozen halal chicken and a “top secret” cooking process that involves a 24-hour marinade, a blend of wet and dry seasonings, and “ultra-refined clean cooking oil,” which it says gives the chicken a “fiery crunch.” Sandwiches are served as twins on three-inch potato rolls, and typically feature house-made cilantro slaw, a pickle and “Redโ€™s Famous Big Bird Sauce.” Guest can also choose between six spice levels starting from “original” all the way to “FCK YOU CRA,” which is more than likely very, very hot. The menu also sports fried pickles, chicken rice bowls, fries, mac and cheese, nuggets and a toffee cake. Photo via The Red Bird/Instagram Credit: Photo The Red Bird/Instagram
If you thought that we had enough hot fried chicken restaurants in the Tampa area, well too bad, because another one is about to open in Temple Terrace.

National chicken chain The Red Bird (not to be confused with the other national chicken chain Red Bird), will soon open at 11301 N 56th St. Suite 6, in the now-shuttered Yum Yum Hot Pot space within the Terrace Oaks Plaza.

According to the website, the company uses fresh, never frozen halal chicken and a “top secret” cooking process that involves a 24-hour marinade, a blend of wet and dry seasonings, and “ultra-refined clean cooking oil,” which it says gives the chicken a “fiery crunch.”

Sandwiches are served as twins on three-inch potato rolls, and typically feature house-made cilantro slaw, a pickle and “Redโ€™s Famous Big Bird Sauce.” Guest can also choose between six spice levels starting from “original” all the way to “FCK YOU CRA,” which is more than likely very, very hot.

The menu also sports fried pickles, chicken rice bowls, fries, mac and cheese, nuggets and a toffee cake.

“We are definitely not ChikFila [sic], so donโ€™t count on any family-friendly Hellos, Thank youโ€™s, Our Pleasures, or kids meals,” reads the website, “BUT we will do our best to always stay as competitive as we can on price, quality and freshness.”

The Red Bird currently has three locations in Virginia, and this Temple Terrace location appears to be the chain’s first Florida outpost.

No exact opening date has been announced, but you can follow the company’s local Instagram for updates.
