"Happier Hours" are at Bonefish

Wet your whistle with one of these:

Skinny Rita-Tini - The classic margarita has gone “skinny” with the introduction of Skinny Rita-Tini. Agave nectar, a natural, honey-flavored sweetener derived from Mexican agave plants, provides the “skinny”.
Ocean Trust Mango Martini — Trust your instincts and order this mango and orange delight. It is delicious and citrusy-sweet, without being overpowering. For each one sold, Bonefish donates $1 to the ocean conservation foundation, Ocean Trust.
Raspberry Martini — This “berry good” cocktail packs a raspberry punch with a sour twist, courtesy of both raspberry vodka and raspberry liqueur, plus fresh sour. The raspberries served with this cocktail provide you with a dose of your daily fruit intake.

Bonefish also features seasonal martinis, such as Grapefruit Martini. I was able to sample this one as well, and found it to be similar to Ocean Trust Mango Martini, and every bit as delicious.

Order one of the $5 Favorite appetizers to accompany that discounted cocktail, and you’re talking budget bites. The selected appetizers are:

Saucy Shrimp — If you are a Feta fan, you will enjoy the Saucy Shrimp. But don’t worry, it’s not merely shrimp tossed into a sea of sauce. Chunks of Feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and olives are in the sauce. Some prefer to dip bread into the sauce, but I preferred to smother the bites with the sauce.
Fresh Ceviche — This is the ideal option for the health-conscious diner. Loaded with chunks of seafood, such as shrimp and scallops, the citrus and cilantro flavors give it a citrusy flavor with a flair. The tortilla chips it is served with serve as ideal scooping devices for this cold selection.

Bang Bang Chicken — This is a spin-off item of the popular Bang Bang Shrimp. The trademark spicy creamy sauce is the same, but I prefer the shrimp. However, this is a great option for those who prefer poultry over seafood.
Baja Fish Tacos — These Cajun-style tacos are another Bonefish favorite. They are loaded with fish and mango salsa, one of my favorite seafood accompaniments at Bonefish. Served with a pile of greens drizzled in an olive oil dressing, which may be added to the tacos, or enjoyed separately as an impromptu salad.

No visit to Bonefish would be complete without their warm bread dipped in olive oil and pesto, so treat yourself to a slice or two with your appetizer(s).

The below entrees are not included in the Happier Hours, but are great options if the $5 Favorites rev up your appetite:

Bonefish House Salad - Start things off light and right with this greens salad topped with tomatoes, olives and pepitas (pumpkin seeds). The pepitas were selected as an alternative to pine nuts, and provide a nice crunch. But the citrus herb vinaigrette dressing and cilantro is what really gives this salad a bit of oomph.
Imperial Wolf Fish — Even Little Red Riding Hood would enjoy this entrée. Stuffed with a shrimp, scallop and lump crab meat trio, enhanced with lemon caper butter and spinach, this was one of my favorite entrees.
Kobe Beef Burger — The special sauce and the tender cut of the beef makes this a prime selection for those craving a simple burger. I would have almost traded in one of my favorite seafood selections for this All-American classic. Served with homemade chips or salad greens.

For a sweet, happy ending to your Happier Hours expedition, select desserts are available, such as:

Crème Brulee — The creamy, authentic vanilla and caramel combination of this rich yet light selection make it easy to see why this is one of Bonefish’s most popular desserts. Chocolate Brulee is also available.
Brownie Sundae — This is the perfect option if you are craving an All-American chocolate fix, and prefer brownies over brulees (as I do). Nut lovers will love the nutty brownie serving the base of this decadent dessert.

Happier Hours specials are available at all Tampa Bay area locations. Selections may vary based on location and availability.
