After much anticipation, it looks like Hiccups & Churroholics is finally opening soon in Carrollwood within the next month, according to a recent Facebook post. The concept—a mashup of Asian cuisine and churros—was supposed to open earlier this year but pushed its opening back to fall because of COVID-19. Annie Tra, owner of the concept, told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that it's eyeing an early November opening.

The restaurant is a mix of the Hiccups Restaurant & Teahouse and Churroholic restaurants, so expect that hodge-podge of Asian- and Spanish-inspired foods including Pad Thai, several varieties of churros and other sweet treats, tofu, and cold drinks. The menu ranges from $1.50 for a soda to $14 for garlic noodles with shaken beef.

“My intent is to bring in modern, popular food for young people like boba and churros while preserving the sought- after Asian-fusion selections varying from desserts and snacks to full meals. I am excited to share joy through food and a warm, ambient environment to my customers,” said Tra.

Hiccups & Churroholics is in the middle of hiring full and part-time employees. If you’re interested, apply via email at [email protected]. The 1615 sq. ft. space will have a patio space for outdoor seating in the back.

Hiccups & Churroholics will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
