Remember how we all scrambled out to the Florida Fairgrounds the last two weekends in August for a bite of the Florida State Fair foods we all love?
Starting Friday, you’ll have another chance to give in to any residual cravings and bite into more treats like corndogs, the sweetest lemonade ever, and funnel cakes?
That’s when the Hillsborough County Fair—back for another year at 215 Sydney Washer Rd. in Dover—cuts the ribbon on “Taste of the Fair.”
“Taste of the Fair” is a new addition in 2020 and aims to accommodate those who are just in it for the food. When it opens, guests will park their cars and walk up to food vendors and order food (versus sitting in their cars like they did at the State Fair). This year’s featured food vendors include Perkins Pizza, Umami Smoke (pictured), Morning Glory Donuts and Smitty’s Buttermilk Corndogs.
Admission and parking is free. Food prices range between $3-$12 and all the vendors accept cash and credit/debit cards. The drive-thru event runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
If you’re headed out there, do know that this year’s fair is restricted due to the pandemic. The only events not open to the public this year include youth livestock shows and the 2020 Harvest Queen Pageant.
