St. Pete’s long-awaited King of the Coop location at 6928 22nd Ave. N will debut this weekend. You can get your hot chicken fix starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, according to Instagram.

The new King of the Coop—located across from the Tyrone Mall—will only be take-out and credit and debit card only until further notice. Uber Eats and EZ cater options are available, too.

St. Pete's offerings will mirror the menu of other King of the Coop locations across the Bay, with fat chicken sandwiches ranging in spiciness—from naked to “Coop’s Fury,” its signature Nashville hot with added habanero.

Besides chicken sandwiches, King of the Coop also features chicken and waffles, hot chicken-topped fries and mac and cheese, and chicken tender baskets. Slides include coleslaw, collard greens, fries, hush puppies and mac and cheese.

There’s set to be some competition between the new Coop and Central Avenue’s Nash’s Hot Chicken only six miles away, because they're some of the only places to get hot chicken in the ‘Burg.

Another location of the perpetually-expanding hot chicken franchise will debut in Tampa soon at 8727 W Linebaugh Ave. near Westchase.

Assuming St. Pete’s upcoming King of the Coop will have similar hours to the three existing locations in Seminole Heights, SoHo and Wesley Chapel— it will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday.
