IHOP National Pancake Day

Flip for free flapjacks!

Shriners Hospitals for Children includes twenty-two hospitals throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. These hospitals treat children with advanced cases of debilitating conditions, such as spinal cord injuries, burns, cleft lip and palate and orthopedic issues.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals includes over 170 hospitals throughout the continent. Since 1983, a whopping $4 billion has been raised for the hospitals within its network. These funds have provided medical equipment, research, training, and uncompensated healthcare.

IHOP has served over 14 million pancakes nationwide since National Pancake Day’s debut. That translates into a lot of short stacks! IHOP served four million pancakes on the 2011 “holiday” alone, which made IHOP history. Not only that, but patrons donated over $2.5 million to the featured children’s charities. Exactly how high of a flapjack stack is four million pancakes? Sixteen miles!

This year, IHOP’s National Pancake Day’s fundraising goal is $2.7 million. So gather your family and friends for a “charitable outing” to your local IHOP, and make this year the biggest yet! The complimentary short stack can be your breakfast, lunch or dinner; the choice is yours. As IHOP would say, “Come hungry, leave happy.”

IHOP National Pancake Day

Don’t miss IHOP’s National Pancake Day celebration, on Tuesday, February 28! Visit any local IHOP from 7 a.m.-10 p.m., and receive a free short stack of their trademark buttermilk pancakes. IHOP is the International House of Pancakes for good reason, and their short stacks are certainly not short on taste.

IHOP established this annual charitable event in 2006, and patrons have “flipped” for it ever since. It benefits local and national children’s charities, such as Shriners Hospitals for Children, located right here in Tampa, and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Almost $8 million has been raised since the event’s debut year. The short stacks are free, but you will be asked to leave a donation for the featured charities.
