Italian kitchen dishing Detroit-style pizza to Madeira Beach

The old Subway on Gulf Boulevard is now home to Frabotta's, which offers pies, subs and pasta.

Locals and out-of-towners can get a taste of Detroit, and southern Italy, without leaving Madeira Beach. A new restaurant, Frabotta's Italian Kitchen, opened earlier this month with a spread of dine-in and to-go pizza, subs and pasta.

Replacing the old Subway at 15031 Gulf Blvd., Frabotta's offers another casual dining experience on the beach. But its stylish atmosphere and Detroit-style round and Sicilian square pies, which come with a choice of toppings and crust finish (butter, Parmesan or garlic), set the stand-alone restaurant apart.

An antipasto tray of meat and cheese, garlic knots, hearty 8-inch sandwiches like the Philly and club, pasta e fagioli, calzones, and tiramisu are additional menu items.
