You might remember Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams from its scoop bus that has made its rounds in Tampa Bay over the last couple of years. Soon enough Tampa will get two locations of the scoop shop, one within The Pearl (across from Armature Works) in Tampa Heights and another at Sparkman Wharf.
“Our truck tour came through Tampa in 2018 and I completely fell in love with the city’s energy—the strong sense of community, the entrepreneurial spirit,” said Jeni’s Founder Jeni Britton Bauer. “We couldn’t be more excited about opening at The Pearl and Sparkman Wharf.”
These two shops will be the first Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in the sunshine state. In this case you really can't have too much of a good thing, especially with Florida summer knocking at the door. Until then, you can snag prints at Publix and Whole Foods around Tampa Bay.
Founded in 2002 by James Beard award-winning ice cream maker Jeni Britton Bauer, Jeni’s ice creams have long been regarded by industry insiders, food critics, and connoisseurs as the standard by which all other ice creams are judged. Get ready for signature classics with like Brambleberry Crisp and Churro, as well as gluten-free flavors like Gooey Butter Cake and a dairy-free line of flavors (which, by the way, Time named one of the best inventions of 2019.)
No opening dates have been announced, more details to come as construction continues.
