Excitement is growing on social media with talks of a Jollibee fast-food location coming to Tampa Bay.

That would mean drive-thru access to fat dishes like the chain's signature Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, and sandwiches constructed of Spam and corned beef.

When it comes to sweets, desserts are takes on Filipino cuisine staples like Ube Pearl Coolers.

The brand originated in the Philippines in 1975, and just over two decades later, the first Jollibee opened in the U.S. in California in an effort to cater to Filipino and Filipino-American families in the area.

There are now 37 operating locations around the nation, with 1,300 worldwide.

Florida got its first taste of Jollibee late 2016, and there are talks of more locations in the Sunshine State on the horizon.

In a past email with Jacksonville Daily Record, the director of new markets for Jollibee North America Agnes Briones reassured the publication that there will be more restaurants to launch throughout the state of Florida in the coming years.

When CL called the Jacksonville Jollibee, management confirmed a Tampa Bay location is in the works, without giving a specific opening date.
