Flying Cloud Tea & Gifts is the new kid in Dunedin. Opening day for the loose-leaf tea shop — which offers a nice selection of giftables in addition to 120-plus types of tea — was Oct. 4 at 2194 Main St.

The tea industry isn't unfamiliar territory for Flying Cloud's seasoned proprietors Nick and Nicolette Spears. With more than 10 years in the business, the passionate husband-and-wife duo are also behind the Louisville Tea Company in Kentucky, which they run with their family.

Patrons looking to get their tea fix can choose from a wall of tins, featuring options such as rooibos, black currant and vanilla cream — available hot or iced and meant to be enjoyed in-house or on-the-go. The shop even has a tasting bar, where a guest's first sample is free, plus a $10 sample box with 12 single-serve teas for folks who'd like to taste a range of offerings.

The Flying Cloud website gives customers a good idea of what to expect from the varied lineup.
