After a few weeks of soft openings, Madeira Beach’s Lucky Lizard Taphouse is ready to make it official with a weekend grand opening celebration.

The taphouse, located at 14963 Gulf Blvd., starts the celebration on Friday, March 5. with songwriter John Frinzi playing from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Continuing the party is Larry Motts playing Saturday from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. before Big Joe Schweitzer finishes the weekend with a Sunday set from 2 p.m.-5 p.m.

Lucky Lizard, whose neighbors include Bula’s on the Beach and Dockside Daves, is going for a “beach chic” vibe as owner Karla Penner recently told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Penner, who moved to the area from Colorado, told CL she wanted to bring her love of craft beer to Madeira Beach. Lucky Lizard offers 30 beers on taps, plus an assortment of bottles and cans to choose from. The “Beach Eats” menu includes ceviche, street corn dip, sandwiches and a rum cake of the day.

Lucky Lizard’s hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Sun.-Thurs., 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Fri. and Saturday.
