After seven years in downtown St. Pete, a major remodel is headed for Cassis. The indoor-outdoor American brasserie will temporarily close its Beach Drive home base starting Sunday after brunch service, and then reopen on Sept. 22 ahead of dinner.
Meant to refresh Cassis in both design and function, renovations include an updated interior bar, a kitchen overhaul with fresh equipment, new fixtures and signage, and a lounge tentatively (and aptly) named The Lounge at Cassis outside on the corner of Second Avenue North, where the patio seating is now.
Nixing the covered tables and chairs is part of the patio's transformation, scheduled for mid- to late October. A free-standing lounge with four cabanas and two high tops will take their place, in addition to an exclusive menu of cocktails made with fresh ingredients.
"We've had an amazing seven years in St. Pete and want to continually elevate our guests' experience," said executive chef Jeremy Duclut. "Having learned a lot since our opening in 2010, we are putting experience to good use by raising the bar and keeping pace with St. Pete's growing foodie experience culture."
