Maritana Grille introduces new farmers' market menu

Maritana Grille, located inside the Loews Don CeSar Hotel in St. Pete Beach, unveiled a fresh lineup called the "St. Pete Farmers Market Tasting Menu" earlier this week. The menu highlights local produce and dairy products, and costs $85 per person.

Executive chef Kenny Hunsberger and chef de cuisine Gavin Pera visit downtown St. Pete's Saturday Morning Market, and neighborhood farms themselves, at times, to source ingredients featured on their specialty bill of fare, according to a press release.

Though the offerings vary week to week, stone crab and poached scallops are two popular dishes. Root veggies and other produce from spots like Prevatt Farms and Worden Farm accompany most items as well.

"We want to help heighten the awareness of these farms and provide our guests with the most flavorful local cuisine available in all of Tampa Bay," Hunsberger said in the release.
