Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to help deliver in Pinellas County

Pinellas County volunteers are needed to help deliver nutritious food to children and families in need through the Meals On Wheels for Kids program.

Delivery drivers are needed to help deliver on Mondays and Wednesdays out of Daystar Life Center in St. Petersburg, Catherine Hickman Theater in Gulfport, and RCS Pinellas Food Bank in Clearwater.

According to a press release, routes take about an hour to 90 minutes to complete.

Volunteers can also sign up to help pack boxes of shelf-stable food on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. Those interested can sign up at The Network is also accepting donations at to help support the program. For additional information, the Network can be reached at (813) 344-5837.

The Meals On Wheels For Kids program was created in March of this year in response to COVID-19 closing many schools and taking many children’s main access to food with it. The program is run by the Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger, a coalition of over 350 members committed to ending hunger in Tampa Bay by eliminating barriers to getting nutritious food to the people who need it.
