Initially slated for a late 2019 opening, Strandhill Public is now in the final stages of construction and shooting for a late-February or early-March debut.

The new pub sits at 309 W. Palm Ave., just around the corner from Armature Works, and nearby to other Height's newbies Rocca and forthcoming Woven Water Brewing.

Owner, Rory Martin, told CL that he's itching for this location to launch, as it has been two years in the making. Over the next week, Martin expects equipment to arrive, air conditioning to be installed, wallpaper to be applied and furniture to be delivered.

Locals can expect a menu celebrating modern-day Irish culture while paying homage to traditional cuisine. Expect typical bar eats including a variety of salads, burgers, wings, mussels plus traditional Irish dishes like beef stew, shepherd's pie, as well as bangers and mash. Oh, and plenty of beer to go around.

Until then, you can get a taste of the pub at its first location stationed at 10288 Causeway Blvd. in Tampa. More details to come as construction finishes and an official opening date is announced.
