Local beer lovers will be pleased to know that the wait for downtown St. Pete's Pinellas Ale Works is over.
Thursday afternoon, the 15-barrel brewery at 1962 First Ave. S. unveiled its soft opening as this weekend on Facebook. Its doors will open to the public from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The area first learned of PAW's plans for a brewery and tasting room near Tropicana Field back in 2014. That year, Dennis Decker, who founded the dog-friendly brewery with Matthew Brown, told CL there will be six regular taps and six that rotate, a large beer garden and extra seating on First Avenue.
The brewery's opening announcement comes just after the launch of Cage Brewing, which is diagonal from PAW and opened last weekend.
