Summer is the season of restaurant openings in Tampa Bay! Baba on Central will debut in St. Pete at 2701 Central Ave. the first week of July.

The restaurant has been teasing its followers for months with decor updates and as of last weekend, its Friends and Family dinner flaunting its upcoming offerings.

When it comes to ambiance, the folks behind Bodega turned to St. Pete mural specialist, Chad Mize for an overload of evil eye symbols throughout the entire concept. Continuing with the theme, Baba will also give out stones with the evil eye painted on each to each guest who dines at the joint.

A super clean aesthetic, with wooden panel accents. In a former interview with CL, owners Debbie and George Sayegh were excited to bring both a full-service restaurant and a fast-casual bakery to the space.

The menu of the restaurant will host a mix of entrees and starters, plus a full-liquor bar with cocktails featuring hints of Lebanese and Greek inspiration.

The bakery will be stocked with house-made pita bread, kebabs, sandwiches, Greek coffee and the occasional selection of pastries.

An opening date will soon be announced, along with official hours of the newest restaurant on Central Ave.
