Cheers to more breweries in Tampa Bay.

Bastet Brewing officially opened Nov. 6 at 1951 E Adamo Dr. Suite B in Palmetto Beach, just a few blocks southwest of Coppertail Brewing Co. The new brewery features a taproom and plenty of original small batch brews, like “How Now Brown Cow,” an imperial milk stout, “Hot Tub Time Machine,” an imperial India pale ale and “Aw Shucks,” a cream ale.

Bastet Brewing’s co-owners Tom Ross and Huston Lett have been serving beers at Bay Area craft beer festivals for years, according to Bastet’s website. “We’re now looking forward to serving those same beers in our tap room. Thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement.”

The name for the brewery, Bastet, pays homage to the importance of beer in ancient Egyptian societies.  “The story of Bastet is a story of how beer saved the world. History has again and again shown that beer has changed the world in significant ways.”

For now, the taproom is open Sunday and Monday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
