More caffeine headed to downtown St. Pete.

Downtown St. Petersburg gets its newest coffee shop next weekend when the family-owned cafe The Blend opens on Feb. 7. It’ll be located at 490 1st Ave. S., in the bottom floor of an office building.

The Blend is celebrating its grand-opening with an all-day happy hour and live music from Chris Allen from 6 p.m.- 10 p.m.—giving its customers the first taste of its extensive beverage menu of coffee, tea, mimosas, vodka spritzers and beer. This new spot also boasts food options, although there is no menu online to preview its offerings—the only way to find out is to head there on Friday, Feb. 7.

The grand opening celebration starts at 7 a.m., and if you want a beer that early—The Blend’s going to serve it to you (Fridays, amirite?)

The Blend does have its fair share of competition, as other downtown St. Pete caffeine hotspots like Bandit also sell beer and wine alongside its coffee drinks. The owners and operators are mother and daughter team Stacha Madsen and Nichole McVicar, and the duo plans to open a second location at 1211 4th St. N. in the Historic Old Northeast neighborhood of the ‘Burg. The projected opening date for the second Blend was originally January or February, but since the first location took a little longer than expected to get up-and-running, the opening for the 4th St. N store will most likely be postponed.

After openings, hours at St. Pete's new coffee shop, The Blend, will be 7 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
