Joella's Hot Chicken launches a new location in Largo at 10150 Ulmerton Rd. on Friday, September 20.
Rather than quietly opening, the national chicken concept comes in with a bang by giving the first 100 guests in line vouchers for free hot chicken each week for one year.
Joella's suggests lining up 24 hours in advance. Keep in mind, all winners must be 18 years or older and present a valid ID to claim their chicken haul.
The giveaway begins at 8 a.m., followed by the doors opening for business at 10:30 a.m.
Seeing that Tampa Bay has welcomed hot chicken with open arms, Joella's is ready to continue the trend with their levels of climbing heat, offering five flavors in between the Joella's southern sauce, which harbors no heat, to "Fire-In Da-Hole," which is considered inferno and waiver-worthy.
The menu carries chicken plates (jumbo tenders, wings, dark and light quarters), sandwiches, salads and southern sides like mac and cheese, fries, potato salad and slaw. There's even a vegan chicken plate constructed of a seasoned, soy-based pea, carrot, beetroot, and potato patty. Oh, and chicken and waffles features three jumbo tenders (or big wings) with your choice of maple syrup or Joella's Spiked Honey. Kids 10 and under can also snag a Lil' Chicks meal with one jumbo tender or big wing along with up to two classic sides and a drink.
Can't make the grand opening but want to get some free food? The next week finds Joella's giving guests specials including a free jumbo tenders (September 23), kids eat free vouchers (September 24), and a free extra side (September 25) all with a purchase of an entree.
