For the last two weekends, new South Tampa concept Bar Hwrd, located at 302 S. Howard Ave., has been hosting preview weekends to get staff acclimated and give locals a taste of the latest bar on the block.
Well, the training wheels come off with a grand opening weekend beginning Friday, October 4 and running through Sunday, October 6. Expect serious drink specials and promotions, music, games and VIP service.
Bar Hwrd is also pet-friendly, so bring your pup to get acquainted with the new spot on the block.
The bar's food menu is supplied by Soho Fuego, a connected food concept run by Taco Bus founder Rene Valenzuela. According to the Soho Fuego Instagram, Valenzuela is serving "authentic Mexican dishes" and by the photos posted, get ready for a hefty rotation of street tacos on corn tortillas.
Valenzuela's arrival means that Soho Fuego is on the list of at least eight other notable Tex-Mex restaurants within a half-mile radius. Soho is rich in tacos, and booze — and Bar Hwrd is serving up both.
After this weekend's grand opening event, Bar Hwrd will be open 4 p.m.-1 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 4 p.m.-3 a.m. Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Sunday.
