If you’re looking for another way to soothe your sweet tooth, Gaia Donuts has you covered. Last weekend, the vegan donut company soft opened its storefront in Seminole Heights. Leading up to the big day, the shop—located at 6617 N Nebraska Ave. across the street from Gangchu—let the “Gaia Community” know about the plans.
Customers were welcome to check out their “not 100% finished” space and buy allergen-free treats. The first day turned out to be a complete success with all the desserts selling out and Gai taking a moment to close again with hopes to open this week.
“Yesterday was a whirlwind. We are taking in everything we learned from the soft opening so we can be better prepared to keep you all stocked,” they wrote.
“I know it stinks that we are closed right now but this time is absolutely vital for such growth in our company. Knowing how much staff to have come out what to delegate to who and how to maintain a comfortable flow for everyone involved is just as important as making beautiful deserts. We hope to get this all worked out and opened up for really real in the next week. ”
Before opening their brick-and-mortar, Gaia Donuts could be found at various weekend markets in Tampa Bay from Safety Harbor to Lakeland.
Gaia Donuts told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay official business hours aren’t finalized yet but they are currently taking custom orders at the moment.
