After teasing plans to enter the market, a new seafood restaurant is making its debut in Tampa Bay soon.

Business Observer says lowcountry seafood restaurant Outer Banks Boil Company plans to open franchise locations in St. Pete Beach, which opens this month at the Dolphin Village Shopping Center—located at 4655 Gulf Blvd.—plus two others in Clearwater Beach and Riverview.

A Facebook post from September 2020 alluded to Outer Banks coming to the area.

“Over the next few years, you’ll see OBBC shops in St. Pete, Clearwater, and Tampa!,” says the post. “We’re beyond excited to cut some ribbons in the Sunshine State ☀️ Stay tuned for updates and grand openings – road trip, anyone?!”

“Lowcountry” boils feature seafood like shrimp and crawfish, sausage, and veggies cooked together in a large pot of water and spices. Several other Bay area restaurants already offer low country-style cooking, inclduding Ava’s Lowcountry Cuisine in Lutz, Shrimp & Co. in Ybor, or Salt Cracker Fish Camp in Clearwater.

In addition to the boils, the restaurant will feature pulled-pork bbq, coleslaw, cornbread muffins, and key lime pie as options.

No details on when its Clearwater Beach and Riverview locations will open, but follow them on Facebook and Instagram to be one of the first to know.
