The countdown is on for the opening of Mary Margaret's Olde Irish Tavern. On the restaurant's website, the timer is ticking away for the February 1 debut at 29 3rd St. N. in St. Petersburg.
The owners of The Galley (Ian Taylor and Pete Boland) are heading up Mary Margaret's operation, alongside fellow veterans in the restaurant industry: Roger Zeghibe, Aaron Van Dora, Jack Caramello and Chris DiNeno.
When it comes to eats the 'Paddy Starters' include bites like wings, chicken tenders, fried grouper bites and Irish cheddar mac. Soups and salads are also loaded on the menu with a signature creation called Cheri's Redhead Salad with cranberry stilton cheese. Diners can also snag sandwiches, and entrees include classic Irish dishes like fish and chips, a rack of lamb, Proper Shepard's Pie, as well as corned beef and cabbage. By the way, vegan options have made their way on the menu with selections like Vegan Shepherdess Pie and a vegan cheeseburger. The restaurant also plans on serving up dessert dishes and Sunday brunch.
Don't expect a dry bar, the new restaurant is set to pour up brews and offer up a generous cocktail menu.
The wait won't be long, the Mary Margaret's website reads, "Stay tuned for more information on amazing specials, live music and true tastes of Ireland coming soon!"
